The Dualcomm DBPS-4005 is a low-cost Ethernet bypass switch designed for 10/100/1000BASE-T Ethernet links. It is typically deployed with a network security appliance, such as an intrusion detection system (IDS) or intrusion prevention system (IPS).

If the DBPS-4005 loses power, its two network ports automatically switch to bypass mode to maintain network connectivity. The DBPS-4005 also monitors the appliance links and automatically bypasses the attached appliance if a link goes down. These features make it suitable for deployment in critical network paths.

A built-in monitor port captures full-duplex inline traffic, allowing the DBPS-4005 to serve as a network TAP.

The DBPS-4005 supports Link Fault Pass-Through. If the link on either network port goes down, the link on the other network port automatically goes down as well. This feature helps high-availability networks detect link failures and activate a redundant path more quickly.

The DBPS-4005 supports Power over Ethernet (PoE) pass-through between its two copper inline network ports. This allows a connected PoE-powered device, such as an IP phone, to continue receiving power from its PoE-capable link partner, such as a PoE switch.

The DBPS-4005 can be rack-mounted using the optional RMKIT-1000 mounting hardware kit, sold separately.
