The Dualcomm ETAP-PI Raspberry Pi Network TAP Appliance is a compact, portable device that integrates a Raspberry Pi 4 module with a gigabit Network TAP module, designed for efficient remote network monitoring and troubleshooting.

When deployed inline between two network nodes, the ETAP-PI captures bi-directional traffic and transmits the data to the Raspberry Pi for processing with network monitoring or analysis software. Additionally, the Raspberry Pi module can be accessed remotely via the two inline network ports (A and B) over local networks or the Internet.

The ETAP-PI also includes an external monitor port that provides a copy of the captured traffic, allowing it to function as a standalone 10/100/1000 gigabit Network TAP.

Both inline network ports (A and B) can be used for configuring or installing software on the "headless" Raspberry Pi. To ensure safe operation, the ETAP-PI features a pushbutton and LED indicator for graceful shutdown, preventing data corruption on the Raspberry Pi's Micro SD card when disconnecting power.

For added functionality, a second pushbutton and two bi-color LEDs serve as a user-defined interface that can be customized via software. The device also includes a temperature-controlled cooling fan, which activates when the Raspberry Pi module reaches a user-defined temperature (65°C by default).

All pushbuttons, LEDs, and the cooling fan are wired to specific GPIO pins on the Raspberry Pi module for easy customization.

The ETAP-PI supports dual DC power inputs for enhanced system availability and reliability.

Now available is the ETAP-PI5, featuring the Raspberry Pi 5 module with 8GB RAM and a 128GB Micro SD Card for improved performance.
